We had a GREAT time and I was glad we went! It was fun to see the kindergarten teacher dancing also!! :o) We left early because no one was feeling good, but here are some random pictures from the evening.....

Memorization this Week-

The Grumble Family
There is a family nobody likes to meet,
They live, it is said, on Complaining Street
In the city of Never-Are-Satisfied
The River of Discontent beside.
They growl at that, and they growl at this;
Whatever comes, there is something amiss;
And whether their station be high or humble
They are known by the name of Grumble.
The weather is always too hot or too cold,
Summer and winter alike they scold;
Nothing goes right with the folks you meet
Down on the gloomy Complaining Street.
They growl at the rain, and they growl at the sun;
In fact, their growling is never done.
And if everything pleased them, there isn't a doubt
They'd growl that they'd nothing to grumble about.
And the worst thing is that if anyone stays
Among them too long, he will learn their ways,
And before he dreams of the terrible jumble
He's adopted into the family of Grumble.
So it is wisest to keep our feet
From wandering into Grumbling Street
And never to growl whatever we do
Lest we be mistaken for Grumblers, too.

My Little Hero!

Isaac is such a kind boy and is constantly doing sweet things for those around him. I was so grateful to have him home while I was sick! He continually got popsicles for me, made sure I always had a cough drop and was VERY PATIENT when he was trying to understand what my hand signals meant! He was sooooo great to take care of his brothers... read books to them, make sure they were fed and dressed, etc. Isaac, thank you for being such a helpful kid!!! I love you so much! You really were my HERO this week!

St. Patrick's Day!

We were so excited for St. Patrick's Day this year!!! The kids were sure that they were going to catch a leprechaun. :o) I LOVED celebrating this holiday with all the old traditions mixed w/ some of the new!

Waking up and following the leprechaun footsteps through the house!

Ahhhh, we love the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow-- or in this case, at the end of a leprechaun mess!!!!

Jacob and Adam were SO GLAD that the leprechauns know about Lightening McQueen! :D

Waving the Ireland flag with pride!
GREEN BUBBLES!!!

The leprechauns left little pots filled with shamrock seeds! (They are now growing GREAT in our windowsill)

Ok- this is my FAVORITE picture! Jacob was so dang excited to see green dum-dum suckers! Those are his favorite!!! Not only did he put two in his mouth but he would take one in each hand and move them in and out of his mouth. It was HILARIOUS!!!
Oh, there Jacob goes!! It still makes me smile! :o) Love ya Jacob!
Ok- I probably shouldn't even post this picture. This was a bad mom moment. I actually FORGOT to buy Jacob St. Patrick's Day socks.... but I got everyone else socks. so I just grabbed an old pair--- and they weren't even green!-- and put them in the bucket. He was so happy!! Ah Jacob, I'm glad your only two and will laugh about this someday!!! :o)

Oh know...... there is more.......what else did the leprechauns do?

Nice.... apparently they like graffiti.......
.....and they don't like Christmas! Hee-hee!
Adam was SO EXCITED about what he saw next!
Sweet Isaac- this was my favorite picture of you!!!!

GRAFFITI ON THE CAR!!! WHAT WILL THEY THINK OF NEXT?

I'm not sure who drew this on the sidewalk-- but I thought it was cute!
Making the pinata for the St. Patrick's Day party. Yes, you can have a pinata on an Irish holiday!!! You just need to paint it green! ;D

One may see this picture and think to themselves, "Did Lori bribe Isaac to put his hand it the paste and help?" The answer..... a BIG, "YOOOOOUUUU BEEEET I DID!!!" LOL :D
Our neighbor and good friend Chloe was helping the kids w/ the pinata. We LOVE her!!

-K- I'm totally going to print this picture!! I LOVE it!
And this one too!!!! During the party we played "A leprechaun scavenger hunt" game. Each team had a tiny mint box decorated w/ stickers and they had 10 min. to go around the neighborhood collecting objects that would fit inside. Only one item per house-- the most items win. The girls lost by ONE!

Ahhh, the winners of the prized candy bar!! (Ok-I'm the biggest softey on the planet. I slipped the girls the same candy bar later for them to split. I know, I know.....)

Ok- breaking the pinata was hilarious! Nigel was mindful to make holes and string the rope through so we could hang it w/o it breaking easy. THEN the kids decided that they could put it on the tramp and jump so high that the pinata would bounce and break! ????????Yes, we were wondering what they were thinking???????? Oh well, we let them try and try and try and try and try...... LOL- for 10 min. Then Tati came running in the house to get a baseball bat. "Mom, I think I need to hit the pinata to weakin it!" LOL- ya think?? ;D Honestly, it was SO CUTE to see these kids out there jumping as hard as they could. Anyway, they broke it open and the rest---- well you know how it goes w/ kids and candy!

My favorite part of the day was what Adam was telling people later on. He seemed to have a lot of fun in the morning... but the rest of the day he kept saying, "Oh, I hate these leprechauns. They just made a big mess of our car. Stupid leprechauns!!!!" *Sigh*

Traditions not shown:
1. GREEN breakfast
2. GREEN St. Patrick's Day bread (made at Grandma's house)
3. GREEN milk
4. GREEN leprechaun pee left in the toilets
5. MESSY rooms and bathrooms-- thanks leprechauns for the extra cleaning!
7. SHAMROCK shaped sandwiches for lunch and wee-little green vegtables
6. GREEN shamrock pizza's for dinner
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Until Next Year............

(Ok- Nigel just read this blog and said... "Nice bragging..." grrrrrrr. THIS IS NOT MENT TO BRAG!!!! NO ONE reads my blog-- and if you do, you know this is more like a family journal!! I used to keep a written record-- but I have totally slacked on that job. And I never really took pictures or put them in albums. Sooooooooooo, this blog is a way to share w/ my family and friends things that are going on in my life AS WELL as a place where can turn to next year when I'm trying to remember what we do on each holiday. So please read this post w/ that spirit in mind!!!!!)
